The Logeo

The port of Logeo, located in the town of Sarzeau, represents one of the most beautiful natural coves in the Gulf of Morbihan Regional Natural Park. Historically, the port of Logeo played a crucial role in trade on the Rhuys peninsula.

Before 1789, the Rhuys barges unloaded their goods from sailing ships sheltered in the Bay of West Winds. The cargoes mainly included wine, fine Rhuys (brandy from the vineyards of the peninsula), wood and salt. At that time, the customs post, manned by five customs officers, is today known as the “Le Petit Port” café.

In 1896, the current large hold was built, accessible by a path, and accommodated the steamer "Ville de Vannes." Since then, the port of Logeo has developed into an oyster farming center, and the anchorage area has increased considerably, from around thirty to around 180 places in the port and more than 200 in deep water.

Despite these developments, this small port remains a place of tranquility offering a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Morbihan.
